I'm a native born Texan. My citizenship is in heaven. Teaching God's word is my passion. My wife and kids are my treasures. When the Lord drew me to himself my senior year of high school, I discovered what life is all about: Jesus. He is the reason I exist. His mission is my mission.
My vision: Magnifying my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in personal, family, and ministerial life, from a heart motivated by the Gospel & empowered by the Spirit. In carrying out this vision I pay particular attention to my spiritual and natural gifts of preaching, teaching, and encouragement. My aim as a shepherd of God's people is to know, feed, lead, and protect those entrusted to me, all to the glory of God.
For the past 13 years I've been involved in Christian ministry. In my early 20s there was a sense in my soul of what the apostle Paul said, "Woe is me if I do not preach." The Lord graciously laid a similar burden on my heart.
But I had no educational background in pastoral/preaching ministry. Neither did I have the skills, nor did I have the character to begin pastoral ministry. Much wiser men counseled me to get trained.
My first formal training ground was the College of Biblical Studies where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Christian Leadership. I went from there immediately into seminary training at Dallas Theological Seminary where I got my Master of Theology with an emphasis in Expository Preaching.
My education has prepared me to preach to the young adults and lead worship at Jenks Bible Church.
